Editorial Policy
How our guides are written, how the speed test works, how we are funded, and how to report a correction.
Purpose
WRLDU publishes tools and guides that help everyday internet users understand their connection. We aim to be accurate, practical, and honest about what we do and do not know.
How we write our guides
Each guide starts from a real question people ask about their connection, such as why a speed test is slower than the plan they pay for, or what causes lag in online games. We research the topic using standards documents (for example IEEE, IETF RFCs, and 3GPP specifications), vendor specification sheets, and other reputable technical references, then write the explanation in plain language.
Articles are edited and reviewed by the WRLDU editorial team before publication. We avoid copying text from other websites.
About numbers and examples in our guides
Speeds, latencies, and throughput ranges in our guides are typical values compiled from specifications and general industry references. They are illustrative. They are not laboratory measurements performed by WRLDU, and your real-world results will differ depending on your equipment, provider, location, and conditions.
Where a guide includes an example table or scenario, it is meant to explain a concept, not to report an independent benchmark.
How the speed test works
The WRLDU speed test runs in your browser. It opens several concurrent HTTP streams and transfers test data in both directions with public test endpoints hosted on large content delivery networks (CDNs), including Cloudflare's public speed-test service, and reports the throughput it achieved. Ping is measured as the round-trip time of small requests to nearby cloud endpoints, and jitter is the variation between consecutive ping samples.
Because the endpoints are operated by third parties, results describe the path between you and those networks. They are estimates and are not a guarantee of the speed you will get from any other service.
Updates and corrections
Technology changes quickly, so we review and update guides when we learn that something is outdated or wrong. If you spot an error or an unclear explanation, email rafeleiffel1802@gmail.com with the page address and what you think should change. We will review it and correct the page when the report is valid.
Independence and advertising disclosure
WRLDU is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense. We do not publish sponsored guides, accept payment for rankings or recommendations, or let advertisers influence our content or test results. Ads are served automatically by third-party advertising partners and are clearly separate from our editorial content.
